A few months ago, friends of ours from Virginia Beach contacted us about photographing the wedding of their daughter, Heather. The catch? It would be a destination wedding at Dreams Palm Beach, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Enthusiastically, I agreed to go with my wife as my second photographer. To say that photographing the wedding was a pleasure would be an understatement. We had a wonderful time meeting and getting to know Heather and Brian, spending time with their family and friends, and experiencing resort life on a beautiful tropical beach.

We arrived in Punta Cana two days before the wedding and spent some time with Heather and her family and friends both beach and poolside before ending the evening with dinner at one of the Dreams Resort's restaurants. The next day was wonderful as we were able to accompany Brian and Heather's wedding party on a boat excursion to snorkel on a nearby reef. We had a great time getting to spend time with the couple and their friends. After the trip, we did some wedding preparations and rehearsals before taking some "engagement" pictures of the happy couple in various spots around the resort and on the beach at sunset. The Dreams Palm Beach resort was a beautiful location for photos with little gardens and beaches to set a great backdrop to remember the occasion. The wedding took place right on the beach and was simple, tasteful, and intimate as the couple's closest friends and family were there to join in this special time. The reception was also on the beach and, with the exception of a slight rain shower, was a perfect ending to the evening.

We were able to spend additional time with the family in the days following the wedding as everyone took time to relax and enjoy the gorgeous resort. It was so nice to meet Heather and Brian, and we are so happy and honored that they were so welcoming to us during such an important time. We could not have had a better time, and we are thankful to have been included. We wish Heather and Brian the best as they start their married lives together.
